Embodying Inner Parts Work: Applications for Trauma, Mood, and Chronic Pain

This workshop is approved for 6 hours of continuing education by the Order of Psychologists of Quebec (OPQ).

General description

This workshop explores an integrative approach to psychotherapy that combines Inner Parts Work with contemporary neuroscience, Polyvagal Theory, mindfulness, and somatic practices. Participants will learn how embodied interventions can support emotional regulation, strengthen the therapeutic relationship, and promote healing for individuals experiencing trauma, mood disorders, chronic pain, and stress-related concerns. Through a combination of theory, experiential exercises, and practical clinical applications, attendees will gain evidence-based strategies for helping clients cultivate self-awareness, resilience, and greater internal harmony while incorporating body-based practices into psychotherapy.

After completing this workshop, participants will be able to:

- Integrate mindful inquiry with Inner Parts Work to deepen client self-awareness, insight, and therapeutic progress.
- Apply body-oriented and somatic interventions to explore and work effectively with inner parts in clinical practice.
- Develop therapeutic strategies that use inner dialogue to support clients experiencing chronic pain, mood fluctuations, and emotional distress.
- Implement trauma-informed titration techniques when working with inner parts to promote safety, nervous system regulation, and lasting therapeutic change.
